1121 Basmati
The long-grain Basmati for Malaysian retail and the biryani and nasi trade, where elongation and a separate grain are what buyers check.
Port Klang · Penang
Malaysia controls rice imports through licensing and expects JAKIM-recognised halal on the shelf. Both are settled before we book, not after your container arrives.

Yes. Om Prasadam exports Basmati and Non-Basmati rice from India to Malaysia under APEDA registration, loading at Chennai, Mundra or Nhava Sheva for Port Klang or Penang in eight to twelve days — one of the shorter lanes from India. Two things govern this market. Rice imports are licensed, with Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) holding the import authority, so quantities follow your permit position. And halal certification recognised by JAKIM is expected across mainstream retail. We quote against your licence and arrange halal covering the mill, the packing line and the shipped lot.
In demand in Malaysia
Every market buys differently. These are the grades that actually sell in Malaysia, rather than a catalogue of everything we mill.
The long-grain Basmati for Malaysian retail and the biryani and nasi trade, where elongation and a separate grain are what buyers check.
A dependable, better-value Basmati with good elongation and aroma — genuine Basmati eating quality at a keener price than 1121.
Serves the South Indian community and staff catering trade, in 25kg bags and in retail packs for grocery shelves.
Logistics
Loading at Chennai, Mundra and Nhava Sheva, discharging at Port Klang.
Chennai, Mundra and Nhava Sheva. Direct services from the Indian east and west coasts call at Port Klang frequently; Penang is served on the same rotations.
Eight to twelve days port to port, with routing and transshipment accounting for most of the variation.
Five tonnes minimum per variety, so a single container can carry Basmati alongside Non-Basmati lines for a mixed retail book.
FOB Chennai, Mundra or Nhava Sheva, or CIF Port Klang or Penang, quoted in MYR or USD.
Compliance
Most rice consignments that get held up are held on paperwork, not on quality. We prepare the file before the container is booked so your clearing agent is never waiting on us.

Questions importers ask
Yes, under a licensing regime — Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) holds rice import authority, so quantities and timing follow your permit position. We quote against that and phase shipments to match, rather than shipping a volume you cannot clear.
Yes. Halal certification is arranged from a body recognised by JAKIM and covers the mill, the packing line and the shipped lot, which is the standard mainstream Malaysian retail expects.
Eight to twelve days port to port — one of the shorter lanes from India, with frequent direct calls from both the east and west coasts.
Yes. Labels are applied at the mill in Bahasa Malaysia and English with net weight, origin, production and expiry dates, halal marking and importer details.
One 20ft container, roughly 26 metric tonnes, and it need not be a single grade. Mixed loads are accepted from five tonnes per variety.
Tell us the variety, quantity, packing and discharge port and you will have an FOB or CIF quote within one working day.
