1121 Basmati
The long-grain Turkish hotels and pilav kitchens specify when the rice has to stay separate and elongate visibly on the plate.
Mersin · Izmir · Ambarlı
Turkey protects its own rice crop, so import timing and licensing decide as much as price. We quote against your licence position and hold the specification steady across a season.

Yes. Om Prasadam exports Basmati and Non-Basmati rice from India to Turkey under APEDA registration, loading at Mundra or Nhava Sheva for Mersin, Izmir or the Ambarlı and Istanbul terminals in fourteen to eighteen days. Turkey grows its own rice and manages imports actively through tariff and licensing arrangements administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, so quantities and timing follow your import licence rather than the other way round. Basmati is the grade that travels best here — Turkish hotels, pilav houses and the growing Indian and Pakistani restaurant trade all specify long grain.
In demand in Turkey
Every market buys differently. These are the grades that actually sell in Turkey, rather than a catalogue of everything we mill.
The long-grain Turkish hotels and pilav kitchens specify when the rice has to stay separate and elongate visibly on the plate.
A high-yielding Basmati with very uniform grain and consistent milling out-turn — efficient for repeat licence-tied programmes.
Parboiled Basmati that holds firm through large-batch cooking, favoured by caterers serving rice in volume.
Logistics
Loading at Mundra and Nhava Sheva, discharging at Mersin.
Mundra and Nhava Sheva. Services to Turkish ports commonly transship at Jebel Ali, Port Said or Piraeus. Mersin is the usual rice gateway; Izmir and Ambarlı serve the west.
Fourteen to eighteen days port to port, with routing and transshipment accounting for most of the variation.
Five tonnes minimum per variety, though Turkish orders more often run as full loads of one or two Basmati grades tied to a licence quantity.
FOB Mundra or Nhava Sheva, or CIF Mersin or Izmir, quoted in USD. We can phase shipments across a licence period.
Compliance
Most rice consignments that get held up are held on paperwork, not on quality. We prepare the file before the container is booked so your clearing agent is never waiting on us.

Questions importers ask
Yes, but Turkey manages rice imports actively through tariff and licensing arrangements administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, because it grows its own crop. Quantities and timing follow your import licence. We quote against that licence position and can phase shipments across the period it covers.
