Can you export grapes from India to the United States?
Yes. Om Prasadam exports grapes (angoor) from India to the US from its own processing facility. Each lot is graded, cleaned and tested before loading, then shipped from Mundra or Nhava Sheva to New York and Newark, Savannah, Houston and Long Beach in about 26–32 days to the East Coast; 40ft reefer, palletised. Consignments are documented for the US Food and Drug Administration, with FDA facility registration and Prior Notice, FSVP support and US food labelling prepared before dispatch. US import conditions for Indian table grapes are set by USDA APHIS, including any required treatment; we confirm them and the port of entry before a season’s programme is committed.

Documents for importing grapes into the United States
The United States regulates imported food through the US Food and Drug Administration. These are the documents and checks prepared for grapes consignments, as each one requires:
- FDA facility registration and Prior Notice. Our facility is registered with the US FDA, and Prior Notice is filed before the vessel or flight arrives, as the Bioterrorism Act requires.
- FSVP support. Your Foreign Supplier Verification Program must verify us as a supplier; we provide the hazard analysis, lot test reports and certificates it needs.
- US food labelling. Retail packs carry FDA-format labelling: English, a Nutrition Facts panel where the product requires one, allergen declaration, net weight in pounds and grams, and country of origin.
- Export documentation. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading or air waybill, Importer Security Filing data before loading for ocean shipments, and a phytosanitary certificate where needed.
- Phytosanitary certificate. Issued by India’s National Plant Protection Organisation after inspection, certifying the consignment free of quarantine pests.
- Cold-chain record. Produce is pre-cooled at the packhouse and shipped with a temperature log covering the packhouse, the truck and the aircraft or reefer.
- Grapes import conditions. Shipped only under the conditions USDA APHIS lists for Indian table grapes at the time of shipment, with a phytosanitary certificate and any treatment record those conditions require.
