Can you export mango from India to the United Kingdom?
Yes. Om Prasadam exports mango (aam) from India to the UK from its own processing facility. Each lot is graded, cleaned and tested before loading, then flown from Mumbai or Delhi to London Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester in 1–2 days; air freight by pallet. Consignments are documented for the Food Standards Agency and the GB border regime, with IPAFFS pre-notification, GB residue limits and UK food labelling prepared before dispatch. Alphonso and Kesar fly into the UK for South Asian grocers and premium retail during a short April to June window.
What is mango (aam)?

Compliance
Documents for importing mango into the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom regulates imported food through the Food Standards Agency and the GB border regime. These are the documents and checks prepared for mango consignments, as each one requires:
- IPAFFS pre-notification. Where the product requires it — fresh produce and foods on the high-risk list — consignments are pre-notified on the UK’s IPAFFS system by your import agent; we send every certificate in time for the notification.
- GB residue limits. Lots are tested against GB maximum residue levels at NABL-accredited laboratories, and the report travels with the consignment.
- UK food labelling. Retail packs are labelled to the Food Information Regulations 2014 — English, allergens emphasised, net quantity, origin and a UK importer address — printed before dispatch.
- Export documentation. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading or air waybill, and a phytosanitary certificate where the product needs one.
- Phytosanitary certificate. Issued by India’s National Plant Protection Organisation after inspection, certifying the consignment free of quarantine pests.
- Cold-chain record. Produce is pre-cooled at the packhouse and shipped with a temperature log covering the packhouse, the truck and the aircraft or reefer.
- Mango import conditions. Mangoes are a regulated plant product in Great Britain: each consignment needs a phytosanitary certificate, is pre-notified on IPAFFS and is subject to plant-health checks; fruit is treated as required against fruit fly before packing.
